Louise Kelly

Louise Kelly, co-founder of Resilient Rhythms, has been a practicing Music Therapist for 25 years, working across diverse environments including nurseries, primary and post-primary schools, third-level education, and corporate settings. She holds a Diploma in Music Therapy from Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge, and a BA Combined Honours Degree in Music and Sociology. In addition to her clinical practice, Louise is an Associate Lecturer on the Master’s in Education course at St Mary’s University College, Belfast, and a regular presenter at music therapy training events, where she shares her expertise with new therapists and educators. Beyond music therapy, Louise is committed to supporting young people’s emotional well-being. She volunteers as a dual counsellor with the NSPCC’s Childline service, providing a compassionate listening ear for children and adolescents. Known for her engaging training sessions, Louise frequently travels to deliver specialized programs in Therapeutic Music Making for teachers and hosts corporate webinars on Music and Mindfulness, emphasizing music’s role in mental health and stress relief. An advocate for mental health support, Louise is dedicated to increasing access to therapeutic resources for young people. She speaks openly about the importance of mental and emotional well-being, using every platform available to push for greater support in schools and communities. Outside of her professional life, Louise is a keen fiddle player who enjoys performing and attending community events and festivals, sharing her love for traditional music and connecting with others through performance.

Karen Diamond

Karen Diamond is co-founder of Resilient Rhythms and has been a music therapist for 30 years working extensively in early years, nursery, special education, 3rd level education, condition specific work in the community and in corporate settings. Karen holds, a Diploma in Music Therapy (Dip. M.Th) from Guildhall School of Music & Drama London, and a Masters in Music Therapy (M.M.Th) from Anglia Ruskin, Cambridge. Her undergraduate degree is in Music (B.Mus Hons) from Queen’s University Belfast, she holds a Diploma in Vocal Performance from Trinity College London and has completed specific training in Singing for Chronic Lung Conditions. In addition to her clinical work Karen is an Associate Lecturer on the Master’s in Education course at St Mary’s University College Belfast and has lectured on various Music Therapy Training courses. She was responsible for the design and clinical management of the largest global research trial ever carried out with children and young people and is the Professional Affairs Officer with the British Association for Music Therapy. Karen has extensive experience facilitating workshops for children, young people and adults; training sessions and lectures for teachers; and workshops with education and health professionals. She has a reputation for being an inspiring and engaging presenter who enables participants to feel comfortable and confident using music. An accomplished singer Karen has performed across the UK and is a choir director of the Equal Notes choir – a choir for adults with learning disabilities. Her vision is to inspire and enable children, young people and adults to experience and benefit from the power of music and in particular singing.
